Sticking to it

Well I'll have to correct my self on that last thread I wrote. I didn't lose to a Diamante...it was a Tourer V. Am I supprised,...at first yes but after watching him run last night not anymore. I stood on the side of the road with the crowd and watched my new nemisis spank a couple chump rivals. Oh and maybe next time I wont post a thread after I've been drinking. All in all I love the car even more now....besides it works, and its rained a couple of times since I got it back from the shop. Me lovely lady even ordered me that HKS front mount I've been wanting...I'll I did was buy her chocolate and cook dinner. Some trade.
Now I do have some questions for the gurus out there. If I'm running a little on the rich side I dont need those after market injectors yet right?
Also I'm guessing my next step will be a bigger turbo...might be a while though, tight budget. I'll give the run down of the specs again any tips hints on what I should do(besides buy a GTR) throw 'em at me. Its my goal to get this thing up to around 400ps

Engine:/electronics/exaust
HKS intake w/ 80mm piping
HKS Sequential BOV
GReddy ProfecB boost controller/(boosting at 1 bar)
Apexi SAFC- - - for that better fuel mixture
GReddy turbo timer
85mm front Pipe/test pipe/
Kakimoto exaust/ 85mm
JIC front stut brace
Potenza shocks/springs
Nismo pressure clutch
(coming soon) HKS Front mount intercooler YAY!!

Extras:
Razo shift knob/ and pedals
HKS Boost meter
And yes a sony CD player I've moved away from tapes finally!

About your car running rich, what excaly are you asking?
Do you mean, Since you got front mount and your car is running rich, and if you boost high will you be safe? Is that what you are asking?
Put some light on your question, than I might be able to answer it.

One more thing, was that RB20DET ever produced?

Nissan Turbo engines, in fact all Japanese turbo engines, run quite a bit richer than what they need to in order to make the engine last longer. It's all part of the normal setup. If you are looking for 400ps, the factory squirters are going to be way to small. Typically speaking, the factory injecters are good for about 300 tops...... you may be able to squeeze a bit more out of them, but not advisable. Get hold of some GTR injecters, they are plenty big enough for what you wanna achieve. You will probably also need an aftermarket ECU to get to that figure. As you are trying to keep to a budget, you could try and source the turbo of an RB25DET for a bit more ooomph also. Bolts straight on and gives a good increase over the std turbine.

Thanx

I'll try out the RB25DET turbo..I also heard that a GTi-R turbo might be a good choice as well. As for that RB20DET motor pic yes it was produced and its the same one that I have in my car. I was asking about the running "rich" cause I'm about to open up on the airflow a little more. I dont want to run lean and I know that stock injectors can only do so much. I think that I will go with the bigger injectors and a stronger pump before getting that bigger turbo. Gotta have balance right? All in all this has been a great car to work with, and if anyone knows of any RB20DET out there that are past the 400ps/500ps mark let me know. I'm sure its been done I just wanna know how. Thanx for the assist.

WOW nice going man, RB20DET huh. must be nice to have something different. I heard about those but wasnt sure if they produced em.
Any way about you want boosting high, I got few more questions before i can tell if its ok or not. What kind of turbo are you using? If stock what kind/size? same with the injectors, what size injectors does the RB20DET use? Does the RB20DET uses MAFS or no?
Let me know,
JR

I know of a GTSt that had in excess of 220kW @ the rear wheels, he had done heaps tho.......

Stock turbo is a T25 I think and the injecters are about 270cc.

I'm not too sure about the stock injectors but I too thought they were in the 250 to 300cc range. I finally did put that HKS intercooler in works great. Unfortunately I'm about to go down south to the philippines for a few months but it should make me a little additional income. I plan on just getting an after market kit(turbo) when I get back. One that comes with the manifold, wastegate, dump pipe ETC.. Along with that I'll upgrade the injectors maybe 500cc and get a better fuel pump. Before I leave though I'm going to put in a better pressure plate and see how that works. Also its time for a little allignment for the front. Its starting to rub a bit(put in a new tierod on that side). I did get some new 235/45/17 tires for the back...they work rather nicely. I hope I wont be gone for long I was just starting to have fun bolting on new stuff! Oh well
If I dont get on line again I'll talk to yah later. Skylines rock! Take it easy people and drive it like you stole it!!

Those Tourer V's are fast.

Theyve got .5 liters on you and about 80hp.

I donno what kind of tune-up your car has, but I know of one guy who lived in Iwakuni(near Hiroshima) who had an Auto RB20 but it was built and fast as a mofo.

Stock injectors on a RB20DET are 256cc. I believe the factory turbo is a T3 variant also.

The GTR uses T25's which has the same exhaust flange spacing as a T28 but there are different mounting setups as some have bolt through and others are bolt on.
