What is that bolt
Hi every body i have a question, my problem is i have a small leak coming from behind a bolt that seems to go into the engine on the left hand side of the engine ( 2002 Venture) Its just down from the water pump and to the left of a pulley. It does not seem to attach to anything it just goes into the block. I have tried to remove it using all kinds of tricks but had no lock. Could this be some kind of core plug as i have had problems with over heating. It dont appear to be securing anything to the engine. I'm stumped,
can you help |

Re: What is that bolt
Sounds like the bolt that goes through the timing chain cover and into the block. It will leak coolant there. Should be able to put sealer on it and tighten it back up.

Re: What is that bolt
There is a lot of infomation to be had on these forums. You need to dig around a bit to find it. Try reading this post about the side cover on your engine:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=929624 I've posted a diagram of the cover and bolt pattern there. Hope that helps, John |
