F.A.S.T. Class '74 T/A

Recently finished an engine for a '74 T/A that competes in F.A.S.T. (Factory Appearance, Stock Tire). I had no idea...........(!)

496 CID, Q-Jet, iron EGR intake, "log" exhaust manifolds (D-ports), this thing is a BEAST! Through approved mufflers on 2.25/70-R15 tires, the car goes 11.84 @ 119, and get this, dynoes 424 RWHP (good but not WOW) and 588 lb. ft. of torque! (WOW!!!)

At just over 4,000 lbs. "race weight" (fueled and w/driver), this is the 4th quickest Pontiac EVER in the class. It's right there with the other three, and will surpass them once he learns how to drive it! This was just his second time at the track with the new combination.

To add to all this, the car won "Best in Show" at the '07 TransAm Nationals! It graced the cover of High Performance Pontiac Magazine Jan, '07 as well. But as in evidence by the numbers, not just a "pretty face"!

Congratulations to Jay DeLaigle, owner and car builder, out of Woodstock, Georgia. Guys like him make my shop look GOOD!

Jim
