Where to find intake manifold studs

I just had my head built again and I got it back from the machine shop with no exhaust manifold or intake manifold studs. I'm just going to order new exhaust manifold studs from extremepsi.com but, I can not seem to find intake manifold studs anywhere. I've searched a few dsm part sites and no luck. Are the intake manifold and exhaust studs interchangable or what? When installing them do I just finger tighten them like head studs?

Re: Where to find intake manifold studs

I searched all over and the only place I could find intake manifold studs where the dealership. Fortunately they are like $1.40 each for the smaller ones and the bigger ones are about 2 bucks each.

Re: Where to find intake manifold studs

I would think most of the studs are interchangable. At least on the 420a head they are. I would assume all of the studs on the 4g63 head would work except maybe those 2 big ones on the end. Either get some from the dealer or just pick up some bolts and use those.

Re: Where to find intake manifold studs

Yeah bolts will work fine. But I would put the 2 studs on the corners though to hold up the manifold while you put the bolts in, thats what i done on my exhaust mani.

Re: Where to find intake manifold studs

I thought about the whole interchangeable thing however, it occurred to me that the lowest you can buy exhaust manifold studs for is about 25 bucks. So I figured there would be a reason why they cost more than intake manifold studs. I ordered the studs and I'm picking them up on Friday. Hopefully this is the last time in a long time I will have the head off my car.
