Were do I put a cai (cold air intake) on a 2.4L 96 stratus

I know were the intake goes and how it is set up in the car but I need help locating it out side of the car. Where do I run this thing? I was wanting t run it down to the empty fog light opening but the battery is in the way. Then I decided that maybe I would run it out to the fender but Im afraid that a good bump or splash of water will do it in even with a spash gaurd. Should I just put a short ram intake in with a true hood scoop running connecting to it or would the cai be a better choice?
