Re: s-10 fuel gauge
Is this new behavior?
Mine ('98 s-vehicle) has had strange 'characteristics' since I bought it. Reads correctly, but if I coast to a stop in neutral with 1/4 or less, it goes to zero as I stop, then back up slowly. Won't do it if I leave it in D, or if I coast down in N with more than 1/4. |

Re: s-10 fuel gauge
Quote:
Could be a bad unit, or just a wiring problem/bad ground. Check all wires leading from the pump, and pay particular attention to any black wires that may ground along the chassis after leaving the pump. If it's the sending unit, you'll need to drop the tank, and remove the fuel pump to get at it. The sending units are only available through GM dealers. The other alternative is a whole new after-market pump assembly.
