modelling time
I would like to know how long does it take to build a kit. for me it can be two weeks to two months.
And how long does everone leave the paint to cure before sanding/polishing

I'll spend as much time as needed to get it done right.
I recently started using a food dehydrator, so one day sitting at 115 degrees can cure most paints. |

I have kits that I haven't worked on in about 2 years! It can take me as little as a week to do a curbside and 2 weeks to do a full detail kit if I could make myself sit down and work on it without interruption.

Depends on the kit.
Out of the box about 1 week.....3-4-5 weeks for more detailed ones. Leave the paint to harden over 10-14 days in room temp

It generaly depends on how many times I glue my finger together while building.
I'll say 3-6 weeks depending on how my "other" life is going. Truely depends on how often I get to sit and work at it. As for the wait time. 1 wk by the window, but I do very little "polishing". -Rick |

Anywhere between 2 - 4 weeks. Usually leave the paint to harden for about 10 to 14 days or whenever I finish the rest of the kit (if it takes longer).

For me it takes a long time as I don't get too much time at home coz of work and kids etc.
Sometimes, however, I get a run of night and weekend shifts that I can spend a bit of time on kits. This coming weekend should be a good one, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all 12hr nights, can't wait.

Thanks a really strange question coming from you Phase V. What are you thinking about now? Especially when most people that have seen your models in person want to know YOUR secrets on finish and shine.
Just curious....... |
