fuel pump

i changed my fuel pump on friday today i went to put gas in and car started then stalled as if it ran out of gas and wouldnt start again at all pls help have to have car asap for college 1995 buick lesabre lmt 3.8

Not that the fuel pump is at fault in this case, but what brand pump did you use? I had a Carter from NAPA installed not long ago in my `97 LeSabre and it burnt out at 1400 miles. I replaced that one with a Delphi, just what everyone on here recommended. Cost me $250 in additional labor charges for not listening. Did you change the pump strainer and fuel filter when you replaced the pump?

cant rember the brand cost alot though changed everything now im not sure what to do im not even sure if it is the fuel pump

You are right, it could be something else entirely. No way of knowing without make a few checks. You didn`t say, but I assume the check engine light didn`t come on. Sorry I can`t be of anymore help. There are some great people on here, maybe one of them can steer you in the right direction.

we have plenty of spark no pressure we tested the wires on the harness one of the was from left to right left is ground next has 13 volts found that that was gas gauge next there was no voltage and on the last was goin from one volt to 2 when i turned the ignition over it shot to 14

listen for pump during key on test..sounds like a pump.replace filter too

Agreed... Do you hear the Pump like this when you turn the ignition on... You should hear the pump for a brief 2 seconds or so.. Something like this Vid...
