Talking Clean Avalon MAF - Mass Airflow Sensor

My MAF went out on my 2000 Avalon at about 42,000 miles.
Now have about 110,000 miles.
Recently have been getting hesitation, and decided the MAF might need a cleaning (( Plugs are due too, but not this week ))

There's no spot on the Web that discusses exactly where the d*mm thing is.
Well, it's located just behind the air filter box,
there is a single electrical connector + 2 easy to access Phillips-head screws.
Pop off the connector, and unscrew the screws and it just pulls right out.

I used electrical contact cleaner spray (no residue, doesn't eat plastics) to clean it up.
Easy and fast.
One small tip... the Thingy on the side, that's exposed is probably a temperature sensor,
the wires that get and send the signals are the ones you want to clean,
and THEY down at the far end of the long tube.

Spray, shake, blow dry, repeat and then repeat again until nice and clean.

Have a look here: (( LINK )) for pix on what a Toyota MAF
<< from a Tundra, not same as on Avalon >>
looked like before and after cleaning.
.
.
Hope this helps someone.

I know .............I know
