Lightbulb Stereo problem- fuseOK, wiringCorrect...No constant Power

Hello, new to the website, so hello everyone

Installed a JVC Cd player

I have wired it correctly as far as reliable charts have told me so...

IF
I connect the constant(of the new cd player) to the ignition (yellow/red stripe of civic) I get power for a few seconds... (obviously)

BUT
If i connect everything properly there is no response what so ever...............

I am assuming my problem is in the constant, but the cigarette lighter is getting power.... thats what is throwing me off since they use the same fuse

hoping someone might have a suggestion as to where i should go from hererunaround

maybe i can switch out the cigarette lighter wire since i know there is power for sure......

trace the wire back to the fuse box. there may be a cut in it

Re: Stereo problem- fuseOK, wiringCorrect...No constant Power

When I bought my 95 civic the radio had been ripped out and the harness had been cut. I couldnt even find the constant wire for my radio. So I took and ran a wire from the ignition on the radio and another from the constant on the radio and ran these to the fuse box. I just used a test light to tell what fuses was on at all times and what fuses were on at ignition and hooked them up to that.

I've seen that happen in 2 5g's. I have yet to find the root of this problem. The solution is always to run a new wire.

Re: Stereo problem- fuseOK, wiringCorrect...No constant Power

I have a 92 civic that has been stolen twice and fortunatly ive got it back both times with no major damage. although since the 2nd time i got back i have not been able to put a stereo in it due to no power to red. also the cigarette lighter doesnt work as well as windshield wipers. is this related? please help. Fuses are ok as far as i know i went through them all to try to fix the problem. no such luck.
