94 Pontiac Grand Prix Gtp Keyless Entry And Tail Light Problems
I have a 94 Grand Prix GTP that I've recently purchased... First of all, it didn't come with any keyless remote fobs, so I purchased one off of Ebay, tried to program it, but couldn't even get the locks to cycle as they should... I know that the vehicle did have an alarm system and remote start at one point in time, but they are both long gone... Anybody have any idea what they might have done to make these things happen, does anyone happen to know where the keyless entry computer is located in this car?... Also, when I bought it, it didn't come with the stock spoiler or 3rd brake light, I would say they had some sort of Fast and Furious type spoiler on there... I've recently installed the stock spoiler and 3rd brake light, after completed, I noticed that the fuse for the brake lights was blown, I replace the fuse, hit the brakes fifty times, they seem to work fine, but I take the car around the block, and the fuse gets blown, with the 3rd brake light plugged in or not, any idea what may be causing this, maybe something they may have tapped into... I have already checked most of the wiring, bulbs and replaced the activator switch at the pedal, still blowing them suckers... Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated...

Re: 94 Pontiac Grand Prix Gtp Keyless Entry And Tail Light Problems
On the brake fuse issue, I would say you have a corroded wire somewhere in the rear, and it's shorting out when you drive it as the wires bounce around.
On the remote issue, the receiver is mounted on the rear shelf between the rear speakers, so it should be relatively easy to spot. GM never offered a factory remote start/alarm back then, so they may have unhooked/removed the factory keyless entry to install the aftermarket junk.

Re: 94 Pontiac Grand Prix Gtp Keyless Entry And Tail Light Problems
They normally tap into the running light power, so both the front and rear lights flash when arming/disarming. An exposed wire under the dash where the alarm was removed could very well pop the fuse.
