I have a '94. The switch cowl is the arched plastic cover just ahead of the steering wheel with switches for the headlights, wipers, parking lights, washer, and dash lights. My switches are OK, but the cover is breaking up, making it hard to attach. I'm holding it together with bubble gum and baling wire, but I need to replace it. Anyone know where I can buy a new switch cowl or the cover for it?

Re: lights and wipers switch cowl
I assume it's number three in the picture below. In which case I found it for $132. Honestly, I would try eBay. I get a lot of OEM parts for my 89' there and I see 90+ parts going on there all the time, that part included.

![]() Thanks for the tip. #3 is the part I'm looking for. I would gladly pay $134 but could not find out where it is available. The Trademotion site is not a sales site, but a site for their dealers. Could you tell me where I can buy the part? Doughert0] |

Re: lights and wipers switch cowl
I found you some on eBay:
These first two have the turn signal switch on the pod. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1990s...=p4506.c0.m245 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-93...=p4506.c0.m245 This third one does not have the turn signal on it, for cars that have it on the steering column. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chrys...=p4506.c0.m245 If you still want to buy it new you can get it from Cherry Hill Triplex. Re: lights and wipers switch cowl
FIRST OF ALL: bubble gum? Haven't you ever heard of epoxy glue?
AND SECOND: $132?!?! Are you crazy/filthy rich? Go to any junk yard and take one off of the first 91+ Lebaron convertible/coupe that you trip over, which you probably will trip over them, the junk yards are full of them.

Re: lights and wipers switch cowl
Many thanks to Polygon and Madmanmapper. I'm embarassed that my search skills were so poor that I couldn't find the hits in e-bay - one of which I am now pursuing. As for junk yards, I live 40 miles from the nearest one, and was putting it off on the theory that they probably wouldn't have a GTC, and if they did, the cowl would be gone, and if it was there, it would be cracked into little shards like all the connector points on mine. Nevertheless, I plan to visit a few tomorrow when I go to town, since the ebay auction doesn't close for a few days. Thanks again.

Re: lights and wipers switch cowl
Out of perhaps 50 LeBaron coupes/convertibles 91+ (new interior styler with the switch cowl) that I have seen in junkyards, only 1 of them was missing the cowl... and *I TOOK IT OFF* to get the digital dashboard. And I've never once seen a broken one.
Oh, and GTC is a package and does not affect the switch cowl. You simply need a 91+ LeBaron coupe/convertible with any package/options. HOWEVER, I have noticed that on the 95 model year and maybe, but probably not, the 94 model year the cowl no longer has the turn signal switch. I suppose they finally realized that many people thought it was an awkward design and they put it on the steering column. I like the crazy switch design, personally. The switch cowl itself should still be usable as the hole for the turn signal switch is simply covered by a piece of plastic. But obviously the switch will not be there. One more thing I have noticed. 91+ LeBaron dash clusters have an unused foglight indicator lamp. You can see a standard fog light symbol if you hold the cluster up to a light at a certain angle. Plus on the back, there's an "F" by the lightbulb socket for it. However, I've never seen a LeBaron with foglights, unless I just wasn't looking hard enough. Though once, I saw a LeBaron on the road and the turn signal lights in the front bumper were white, instead of the nasty yellowish color mine and many others are. I'm also thinking that there is no reasonable place on the dashboard to place a foglight switch. I believe the Daytona shared the 91+ Lebaron interior for a while, and perhaps the Daytona had a foglight option, but still that makes no sense, because isn't the whole interior of the Daytona identical in every way to the Lebaron's? So it would still be devoid of a reasonable place to put a switch. UNLESS they have a different switch cowl for foglights!?

Re: lights and wipers switch cowl
Madmanmapper was right. I finally went to a picknpull and the fourth GTC I came to had the switch cowl, 94-95, pretty much intact - just one non-critical connector boss broken and unrepairable. I noticed when I got it installed that the wipers only have two speeds, no "mist" settings. Was this an option? Everything else about the switch is identical to the one from my car. I saved the switch blocks, so I may replace that, except that when you try to loosen the mounting bolts, sometimes the bosses crack.
Thanks for all the help. |

Re: lights and wipers switch cowl
O_o I had no idea that Chrysler would cheap out on the windshield wipers... every EEK that I've paid attention to the wiper switch had intermittent wipers with misting.
Oh and I just realized that Polygon had links for the switch cowl for with and without fog lights... I want to see what the with fog lights one looks like! I want it!
