1:24 Ford Sierra RS500 Eggenberger Texaco.

Hi.

This is my first post in AF.

I almost finished this kit this week. Almost, because i need to insert roof antenna, tomorrow i will do it.

This kit is almost OOB Tamiya 1:24 Ford Sierra RS 500 Eggenberger.

I insert some little details on this kit:

Hood pins from Sakatsu.
PE Mesh grille from Studio27
Front Ford badge from Mr. Model (Thanks Edison)
PE Wiper from Modeler´s
Hose end from Modeler´s
Mesh hose from Modeler´s
Kevlar decal from Modeler´s (driver´s seat)
Aluminium scratch parts for fuel tank
Baremetal (Thanks Roberto)

I used automotive black paint on car body.
For details, i used paints from Tamiya, Model Master, Alclad2, Testors and acrilyc matt clear coat to simulate body rubber parts.

A really didn´t like decals.....poor quality .....i almost didn´t believe that was a tamiya decal. I need 16 hours, a lot of decal fit from modeler´s and a hairdryer to fix decals properly on the car body.

In spite of decals, this kit is very easy to build. It was a pleasure to build this one.

This is the original Ford Sierra Eggenberger team was run at 1987 and 1988 BTCC and ETCC.

I built 1988 BTCC car, drove by Klaus Ludwig ans Steve Soper.

Decal color sadly, don´t match with real car color......poor quality decals ..

Re: 1:24 Ford Sierra RS500 Eggenberger Texaco.

Hi & welcome to AF!

while i take no interest in motorsport variant builds, i must say that the Ford sierra is indeed a very cult status car...like a skyline-like of its own. i have a brush with a white cosworth sierra here in SGP many years ago, when my EF9 was simply blown away in a straight fight. it was that powerful! with so many aftermarket mods for this car, it's not hard to see why. this is indeed a very unique car...

congrates on your great build of this very respectable supercar!
