Newly built SOHC, overheat, white smoke
So I just got my 87 EC3 back from the shop with a rebuilt d15a, new timing belt/water pump. I changed the oil at 491 miles. My girl took the car today, and drove about 15 miles.
I took it tonight, and drove about 10 miles when I noticed that I couldn't accelerate past 40. My temp gauge was above H... I pulled off, and as I got to about 5 mph it died. It HAS died like that before, though. I popped the hood, found coolant on the transmission and battery tray amongst other areas. Oil was still brand new looking, as it was changed like 30 miles ago. I do have a HUGE amount of smoke from the oil cap though, with none from the dipstick tube. I found a loose hose clamp on a rad hose below the batt tray, and my radiator seemed dry. I have NOT tried to run the engine since it died. Anyone know what I should do? I'm thinking send it back to the shop that did the engine work, or should I just fill the radiator and fix the hose?
