i have a 98 tahoe that wouldnt turn over buy key ... but with a jumper wire to the starter would turn over and start fine ... so i thought it would be the ignition switch .. so i swapped the entire steering column out... and still the same thing but now it turns over and kind fires or stumbles and dies .... so i swapped back out the column and still the same ... any ideas ???? thx in advance!!!!!

Re: 98 tahoe
Proper testing before throwing parts at it.
The starter circuit has to go from ign switch threw neutral saftey switch and threw a relay and fuse before mking it to the starter. Get a test light and a wiring diagram and find out where it is losing starter signal. MT
