Spark Plugs...

Hi,

I bought an 98's Lumina 3.8L engine...
I have troubles with the Spark plugs and want chage it, I have new one here, NGK UR5 2771 can I use them?
What can happens if they are the wrong?

Don't have an interchange book on hand, what are they supposed to fit when you got them? Or check a listing/application book for NGK -plugs.

I wouldn't try it...that's a number for the older 80's GM V6's but they gapped at .045 and your engine needs .060, so they won't gap that big anyway....

Plus the reach and thread depth could be all wrong...you could dink a piston or lose part of the plug into the cylinder.

Correct NGK V-power number is TR55 for that application

Can I pull on the spark plugs wire heat shields? I have trouble to get off the wires... I buy new one, but I need to know if I can pull on heat shield...
