B16 rebuild in 93 Del Sol
My friend owns a 1993 Del Sol. However it has the b16 vtech engine in it and we were running it pretty hard this morning on some back roads by my house when it got sort of a knocking noise. We pulled over and checked the oil level and it was very low (not on stick, had to add about 1.5 quarts). The knocking wasn't as bad after that but it still had the noise. We did run it for a while while it was knocking before we added oil or checked it because we did not hear it. So.. we took it back to his house and tried to see what it was. We are both young (16 and 17) so don't have a wealth of information about cars. I think it was something with heads or piston?? It idled pretty well with almost no noise but once you rev up, it gets the noise sounding like its coming from the top of the engine. We are going to rebuild the motor with help from his dad and was looking for some help on information for rebuilding a b16 vtech?? And also what do you think the problem could be. Thanks for any info
