Re: what would be a good motor for my ef ?

Build a mini-me.. simple way.

Install a SOHC or DOHC ZC, simple but not as cheap. (DOHC ZC are non-vtec, can be found from $350 to $700 usually)

B-series... plan on spending about $2-3k for this.

The choice is yours to make...

Some questions to ask yourself:
1. How much downtime can you afford?
2. How much of the work will you perform?
3. How much power do you want to make?
4. How reliable do you want your installed engine to be?
5. How much tuning are you willing to do?
6. How are you going to be using the vehicle?

The answers to these questions are seriously important when doing a project... with these answers, you know what you should be searching for to find what's (probably) best for you.

Do your research, you will be rewarded with answers... there are plenty of swap lists outlining the pro's VS. Con's of each swap.

Re: what would be a good motor for my ef ?

Yeah, I just realized this... you're the same one that posted about boosting your B18 in another thread...

I have one thing to say... don't start new threads for the same questions. If you have more than one question, they can be asked in one thread.

First, you ask what you can do to the motor you have, then you ask what motor you SHOULD have... and you've only got $1200 to work with, which in this world is literally nothing.

The only reason you got a reply to this thread from me is b/c I was half asleep and didn't look at the OP...

Keep in mind, if you want help... you'll follow the rules.

Re: what would be a good motor for my ef ?

ZC is one of the best swaps for simplicity if you still have D-series setup in your car... that's the only reason I suggested it... then I realised that this dude decided to post in two threads for what could essentially be considered the same answers.
