1996 Oldsmobile Cutless Ciera Backup Lights stay on
on a short road trip a problem occured where the backup lights stay on constantly, hitting the brake never solved the problem, turning the motor on and off and backing it up hoping the backup lights would go out and it still stayed on, even after the motor was cut off.
I had taken out the Fuse and it STILL didnt go out, eventually had to disconnect both bulbs so my battery wouldnt go dead. Anyone know what the problem might be? |

Re: 1996 Oldsmobile Cutless Ciera Backup Lights stay on
On my 96 Olds Cutlass Supreme I had a similar problem. Back-up lights stayed on. Problem was a burned up Transaxle Position Switch. As a second problem was that the car never shifted to 4th gear! When I replaced the switch, both problems were fixed.

Re: 1996 Oldsmobile Cutless Ciera Backup Lights stay on
I had a similar problem with my 95 Olds Cutlass Supreme. Back-up lights stayed on. Also, car wouldn't shift into 4th. Was the tranaxle position switch that was burned up inside! Replaced the switch and all was fixed.
