H22A Timing Belt? Whine

Hi to all,

Just finished installing a H22A JDM swap into a Prelude. After minor issues, I have what appears to be a timing belt whining sound. I replaced the belts before installing. To isolate the noise I removed the PS, ALT/AC belts, whining is still there and of course increases with engine speed. Any suggestions?

Thanks

When you put it on, did you have to stretch it to get it to fit? I ended up buying a belt slightly longer than the stock one.

Front balance shaft frozen

Well, turns out the front balancer shaft is frozen and sheared of the belt's teeth.

Otherwise, the engine runs fine. I hear that some people remove the balancer belt. Is it safe to drive or will the lack of it eventually vibrate the engine to death...
