Re: honda civic 04 lx 2 door

I just bought a black 03 LX 2DR Coupe ... pretty plain but in great shape.
Awesome gas millage ... so I don't plan on tinkering with the mechanical side much.

A new set of spark plugs. Bosch Platinum+4 ... I thought I'd give them a try. My initial opinion was wow ... what a difference, I never expected so much out of a simple swap. The car runs way smoother with a lot more response and a different sound. I have read a lot about bad experiences with the bosche+4s, so my longer term opinion right now is reserved.

To spice it up I just installed window tinit #22, this is just dark enough that you cannot see in but looks quite clear when inside looking out.

Next I installed 17" FAST Venom wheels with Yokohama tires.
Drums and brake calipers were all done in black ... still need to do a bit of black paint on the rotors where the wheel hub meet... looks a little rusty.

Lastly, I have an OEM factory like spoiler that just finished being painted and is to be installed today. Easy installation, The civic trunk lid has a recessed area with 2 "hole" cutouts on each side that is ready to accept the drilling needed to install this type of spoiler. The spoiler bolt holes match up with the factory cut-outs perfectly ... I used some masking tape guides and the installation kit plastic drill templates to line things up over the hole cutouts. Japanese engineering ...

I don't plan any further upgrades except for maybe some sound and possibly a GPS. If you want some ideas, Haynes has a colour manual called: Haynes Xtreme Honda Civic Customizing Book. This is a great book that explores all areas of upgrades and customization from engine dressups to NOS performance upgrades "in easy language". This is a great book for someone like me who didn't have a clue of what to do with a Honda.

I am originally a Chev-Blazer person. This is my first post in the Honda pages and my first attempt at working on a Japanese car. So far I am impressed with the engineering and simplicity of this car and ease of maintenance. Again my opinion is very preliminary ... I have a timing/waterpump to deal with soon. We'll see how that goes and my opinion could change.
