96 Grand Voyager Speedo problem

speedo cluster works for a couple of days then all three gauges go to zero and odometer blanks out with washer light showing low. Then gauges start working as if nothing wrong. Tried disconecting the battery for 10 minutes
gauges worked fine for a week then started acting up again .
Any solutions

thanks john

Re: 96 Grand Voyager Speedo problem

I also have the same problem with the same year car. I gave up on trying to fix the dash cluster. Expect for your Dash Cluster to go out completely. Please check out the key words search link below for "Dash Cluster" in this forum.

Good Luck.

PS

I've been driving my van without knowing how much gas I have, How fast I am going, etc for about a year now.

Re: 96 Grand Voyager Speedo problem

many caravans have this problem and if you let it go your guages and spedo etc wont work. take out the 4 screws that hold on the a/c stuff and unplug it and inspect for a burnt terminal I JUST did one 5 min ago. Clean it up and plug back in or get one from the junkyard

Re: 96 Grand Voyager Speedo problem

THANKS FOR THE INFO BUT I DID FIX MINE IT WAS THE BCM. YOU HAVE TO GET THE NUMBER FROM THE BCM THAT BELONGS TO YOUR VEHICLE AND MATCH IT UP TO A USED ONE. IT TOOK ME 3 TRIES AND IT WORKED. THE ONLY THING IS YOUR MILEAGE WILL SHOW DIFFERANT BECAUSE THE MILEAGE IS STORED IN THE BCM. YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE IT RESET.

THANKS

Re: 96 Grand Voyager Speedo problem

Thanks for coming back and posting the fix. Glad to hear all is well. Did you get the BCM from a junkyard or off the internet somewhere?

Re: 96 Grand Voyager Speedo problem

I Got It From A Junk Yard I Would Not Trust From The Internet Because You Don't Know If That Person Had The Same Problem.
It Took Me Three Tries At It The First Two Had The Same Problem.

Thanks

Re: 96 Grand Voyager Speedo problem

Mine Had Nothing To Do With A Loose Connection I First Tried All The Posting About Loose, Connection Broken Soldering Connection.
It Was The Bcm Read The Posting Above. You Just Have To Make Sure That The Numbers Match On The Replacement One And Yours And Sometimes You Have To Try A Couple Because That Other Vehicle Had The Same Problem Also Some Of These Vehciles Have Anti-theft And The Easy Way To Tell Is To Look At The Left Hood Hinge If There Is A Pin There Then It Has Anti Theft.mine Now Works.

Thanks
