*World Debut* NISMO GT-R ZTune

This is the Tamiya kit painted with TS17 Gloss Aluminum and cleared/polished.

Interior is a mix of black and aircraft interior black with red trim.

The kit is built box stock with the exception of 20" lower profile Aoshima tires, Tamiya Nismo decals and the fact that I built it curbside. I used my artistic license to paint the body so that it would be set apart from stock, hence the NISMO package.

The kit is labor intensive, definitely not a quick build. Everything fit well except for the hood which falls below the body in between the headlights. I had the luxury of shoving a couple of styrene shims under it to bring it flush since it's curbside.

Since Tamiya is cheesy and don't give us drilled rotors anymore(so we'll buy their PE set) I painted them as if they are carbon like Ferrari brakes. Neener

Goes good with my collection.

Brilliant model Brian, it definitely fits in perfectly with the pair of Fairladies.

Re: *World Debut* NISMO GT-R ZTune

Awesome. Just awesome. Can't wait to see it in person in a few hours

BTW (for those who haven't built it yet) the hood fits just fine OOB when the headlight buckets are installed. When test-fitting the hood/fascia it looks like the hood falls down behind the edge of the fascia, but once the headlight buckets are in place the hood sits precisely where it belongs. Wish I could show my OOB GT-R here, but I won't show it off until after it's published. I agree w/Veyron, it's not a quick-build, nothing is difficult and for the most part everything falls into place in typical Tamiya fashion, but masking/painting everything is pretty time-consuming, easily as time-consuming as painting/assembling a bunch of separate parts. Oh, and the P/E parts are pretty nice

Easily the best one I seen so far - superb use of poetic licence! Seeing this sort of quality makes me wanna buy one. Awesome.

That's good to know. Faith in Tamiya restored.

Thanks all!

Excellent work, Veyron. I really like the flat black areas.

Nice idea to use those nismo decals! Paint came out really nice. Overall the build looks sweet, all you need is a r34 nismo now.
