CEL runs rich
ok so just today my check engine light came on and is now running richer then it should. and there is NO boost leak, and my step dad asked if my pcv valve was clogged but would that cause the rich running and the check engine light? if not what could cause it? i have NOT scanned it because i cant find anyone with the adapters for the scanner.

Re: CEL runs rich
Step 1. Go to Autozone, Napa, Checker, Advance, or where ever parts are sold and buy a Haynes manual.
Step 2. Find Chapter 6. Step 3. Do it. |

Re: CEL runs rich
Did you leak test the car, or are you guessing?
Make friends with someone who owns a logger, or pick one up.

Re: CEL runs rich
If you have a manual (which tells you how to pull codes), why wouldnt you just do it and get it over with rather than have us play the guessing game? It'll take you all of about 5 minutes and it will tell you exactly why that code is being thrown.

Re: CEL runs rich
no i do not have a logger. and i did the manual code reading and found out that the BARO sensor insnt working correctly. so i went and bought a new air metering assembly and it still didnt fix the problem. so i did the tests in the haynes manual and come to find out that the sensor is getting signal power, but the assembly is not getting battery power. and the book doesnt say what to do, any ideas?

Re: CEL runs rich
Got me there, and sorry for the name confusion. A member with a similar name recent purchased a logging device.

Re: CEL runs rich
ok forget about my previous statement. i brought the car into work and i cleared out the codes and then ran the car again and two codes come back. code 13, and 25. for the intake air temp sensor and the baro sensor. and i already replaced both of them because they are in with the air meter assembly. also i checked the plug and all the othe tests for the sensor. and every test i did came out good. heres alittle info when this all happened. the car was running fine, i live in mass. i drove to mount washington in new hampshere and the day after i got back the car started running like complete crap. but i replaced the sensors and everything checks out fine. but still the same codes come up for the baro and IAT sensor. if anyone can help me it would be great. thank you
