My brake lights don't work... HELP!
Hello Stang Lovers!
I was wondering how I can fix this problem... my brake lights are not working and this is bothering me! I think it can be electrical but I'm not sure yet. This weekend since it's going to be nice (finally!) i'm going to work on my car... such as getting light bulbs, replacing front lights, etc.. so I need some inputs or tips! I like to fix stuff on my own but would like a general opinion before I take it to a shop and they take advantage of the fact i'm a woman and they'll charge me more... not a cool thing! Thanks to you all! I look forward to your replies ![]() SIncerely, Sylvia opcorn: |

Re: My brake lights don't work... HELP!
Welcome to Automotive Forums. Most likely the brake light switch at the pedal needs to be replaced if the fuse is all right. Check the fuse marked "Stop". You can tell by looking at it if it is bad. It will have the little filament in the top that's melted. If not melted again I think it is the brake switch. As far as cost, you may be looking at a minimum of 1/2 hour of labor @ $60 to $70 an hour. You can easily replace it your self. Locate the switch near the top of the brake pedal and disconnect the electrical connection. Take the switch off and replace with new available at any parts house.
