2002 Alero Wire Colors
Looking for anyone who would have the colors of the wires and where they are located under the dash for the power locks, or just a chart of the wire colors in general for everything. Thanks!

Re: 2002 Alero Wire Colors
Your post has been moved to the Alero forum.
You'll need the GM FSM wiring diagrams. What is the issue or problem you are having?

Re: 2002 Alero Wire Colors
Im just going to be installing a keyless entry in my wifes car if it doesnt already have it, i have never looked to see if it had it or not, i just know that it didnt come with any remotes. Whats they best way to find out, RPO code, and what is it? I also heard about looking in the trunk for the receiver?

Re: 2002 Alero Wire Colors
The remote door lock option RPO code is supposed to be AU8. Check the SPID label for the GM RPO codes. Located on the back of the spare tire cover. It is possible that your Alero did not have this option installed and would explain the reason for no keyfobs. The remote receiver (RCDLR) module, if installed, is located underneath the rear package shelf tray between the speakers. Really can't be accessed via the trunk. Also, the body control module (BCM) must support it.

Re: 2002 Alero Wire Colors
Have a question about remote entry as well, but figured I wouldn't bother making a seperate post. I bought an '02 Alero in september, which came with no key fobs so I didn't inquire about remote entry.
However, whenever I hit the power locks to lock the car, it dings at me then I have to press the button again to lock the doors. I noticed on another GM car I test drove, it did this, and when I walked away with the fob it would lock itself if I only hit the button once. So, do GM cars that can/do use this RE system ding at you like this? Or is this a surefire way to find out you have Remote Entry? |

Best way to check for the remote keyless entry (RKE) feature is through the VIN number. A local GM dealer should be able to tell you whether you have it. Also, we have an AF member that can check it out to verify. Just send me a PM with your VIN number or I can tell you who to contact. And welcome to AF.
