Unhappy 2002 Key Fob Dead

Key fob just stopped working (I'm down to one unit for the truck). Just like that. Went to Radio Shack and replaced battery with exact replacement. Followed instructions inside fob "Hold Lock and Unlock for 7 seconds while close to vehicle." Nothing happed. This sucks. I've tried it with the key on. Key off. Held for 30 seconds, etc. etc. I need help. Any suggestions?

Re: 2002 Key Fob Dead

Just a suggestion, but take the fob apart and see if all of the solder joints are good on the battery holder. Mine had come loose on one end and I had to resolder it. Other than that, make sure the battery is making good contact and that nothing else is loose.

Sincerely,
Matt

And if that doesn't work; you can buy another fairly cheap on Ebay.

The one I bought actually had a 4th button for Trunk release. I just put it's guts in my fob and I'm happy.

make sure the new battery you put in is actually a good battery.neighbor put a new battery in his and couldn't get it to work we checked the voltage and it was a new dead battery.i didn't go with him back to the place he bought the battery but i guess he cut up bad enough to get a $25.00 gift card plus a blister of batteries and he was still fuming two hours later.
