abs light comes on

hi,
i have 2001 lincoln town car and sometimes while driving on my digital meter all the figires go away . its like ---- - --- -- dash dash everywhere and trac off and abs and brake light comes on . stays for few minutes and goes away or u turn ur engine off and turn again on it will go away. any body have any idea pls help.

Personally, I think one of your modules is the cause. I would start with the PCM and then go through every one (one by one) pulling the harnesses, inspecting for contamination and re-seating 'em all.

Are you seeing the Check Engine Light at all ? If so, scan for stored fault codes.. you might even get intermittent results on the readout.

thanks for the reply.i have talked to a mechanic and he said the same thing abt one of the modules. still im gonna get it checked on the computer.
