A/C Problem

When I bought this car, I noticed that the A/C does not blow out of the vents. The only thing it seems to do is blow out of the top and on the floor. It doesn't switchanywhere but that. It blows cold air, just doesn't change positions. The buttons on the control panel don't work anymore wither. Is there a possibility that the control box is maybe shot or do you think this is a vaccum problem. Would really like to get this fixed. Thanks for the help.

Re: A/C Problem

look for the plastic vacuum line to be broke in two- as it passes by the battery enroute to the vacuum reservoir under driver's side fender in front of front wheel-- the battery gases tend to corrode the line-- also look to see if it is plugged in, at manifole, check valve, and at vacuum reservoir. fix it by slipping the right size rubber hose over the two broken ends- no clamps needed.

very, very common problem and fix on your car....
