No spark 90 ram van HELP

My van has no spark!! I've replaced the ignition pick-up in distributor, the computer, checked for voltage to the coil - none, checked coil for spark with separate power source - seems to have a good spark, the start solenoid - seems ok, this van does NOT have a crank sensor.
Any suggestions???

Re: No spark 90 ram van HELP

As far as voltage to the coil B+ primary terminal, I'm not sure how you checked for that voltage, the engine has to be cranking or there won't be anything.

That voltage comes from the asd relay. The asd relay supplies voltage to the coil--injector/s and the heater circuit for the 02 sensor.

The voltage for the coil side of the asd relay comes from the ignition switch, goes hot when you turn the key on. The voltage for the switch side of the asd relay comes from a fuse link, hot all the time. The asd relay will not energize unless the computer grounds the coil side of the relay. I could go on, but, I think you need to check some of the circuits already mentioned. This was for a B150 van.

Is the the asd relay the start relay? If so then i took it apart, yes i know no serviceable parts, and it seemed to work correctly. In attempts to check the coil voltage while turning the engine over - no voltage. where can I find the fuseable link. Dodge seems to put them where ever they can after tossing them at the van - if they don't fall out then they mount them in that spot.

The ASD relay is not the starter relay. The ASD is usually mounted on the firewall along with the fuel pump relay, both are near the brake booster.

The fusible links are up around the brake booster as well.

If your not sure which relay is which, you can look at the wiring diagrams for the color of wires going to the relay in question. Match the colors, my info shows red--dark blue--dark blue with yellow stripe--dark green with black stripe.

the auto zone site should have wiring diagrams for your vehicle, when you go to the site, just click on (vehicle repair guides) follow the links. The wiring diagrams should be under (chassis electrical). You can doublecheck the wiring colors to the relay.
