91 PA A/C compressor seal leak - PW driver side inop

91 PA a/c compressor has minor leak in the front seal. Is there any other fix besides replacing the compressor? Also, driver side window is inoperable. A few weeks ago, didnt work, next time car was driven, started working again. Now, does not work anymore. Car is only driven once a week, garaged, has 24,000 miles. Is not driving car enough going to cause electronic problems in the future? Thank you.

Re: 91 PA A/C compressor seal leak - PW driver side inop

Welcome to AF. There is a way to repl. the front seal with special tools to remove and install the clutch plate. May not want to tackle this and purchase the tool and snap ring pliers. Hit the inside trim panel adjacent to the motor with a rubber mallet hard enough to jar the motor ( don't damage the panel), if the window works the motor is probably bad.

Re: 91 PA A/C compressor seal leak - PW driver side inop

Thank you for your reply. No service center here in Katy, Texas wants to only replace the seal on the compressor. It is a very minor leak, a/c works very well. As far as the pw on drivers side: I hit the door panel with rubber mallet and could not get the window to go down at all. The window gave no indication of starting to fail (noisy, slow speed). It was working great and then all of a sudden, nothing. I would hate to have to take the car to a local Buick dealer. Again, thank you for your response.
