Re: help with installing headers
1) Spray your exhaust manifold bolts down a few times with PB Blaster or another good rust penitrating spray. You might want to do this 2 times over a period of a few days to give the oil a chance to work.
2) Remove both battery terminal wires from the battery. 3)Remove your air breather and air intake tube. 4)Mark your plug wires and remove them from the spark plug side only. You are now ready to remove the exhaust manifolds. If you have an air impact gun your job will go smoothly. If not plan ahead and expect to break a few bolts. I replaced my bolts with grade 8 bolts and hardware purchased from Home Depot's hardware section. 5) Go easy when loosening the manifold bolts because if they are siezed and you put too much torque on them ****snap**** and you just made your work harder. If your manifold flange bolts have the 3 bolt/spring set up and they are originals you will more than likely have to ring em off and replace them with new springs & bolts. Removal and Installation is pretty easy just take your time and don't rush it. In addition to your tools you will need Header gaskets (Fel Pro) Header Bolts ( shorter than stock because header flanges are not as thick as stock exhaust manifold bolts) Hi Temp Anti Seize Compound for your bolts
