2002 2.0L Passat will not take its gas after gets warm

Hello there

I have a 2002 2.0L passet that starts ok and runs for about 5 minutes then boogs down as if to flood . I get out of car and unplug the temperature sensor on the block below the distributer , it then works great as long as the sensor is unpluged. This is a new sensor i put in and it seemed to work great for 2 weeks then back to the same. Could it be the sensor in the rad hose that is giving me all the problems . The car works fine except for this problem
