96 S10 2.2L in a 2000 Isuzu Hombre????

I am needing to replace my 2.2L engine in my 2000 Hombre with the 5-speed manual tranny. A friend has a 2.2L out of a 96 S-10. Wondering if this engine will match up. The block on my current truck is cracked and so I really just need the block. If there are issues with the whole engine, are the blocks compatible? If neither of these will work, does someone have a range of years that I can look at for engine replacements?

it should swap out with out any problems. the are basically the same truck and same engine. only difference is the badges and the front end
