Unhappy d16z6 sewing machine, what tha fu$%???

click click click ....... thats all i hear now. i thought it was the injectors so i put some lucas injector cleaner in it and it went down a little but know its back and clicks faster as i accelerate. i listened to it carefully today and it doesnt sound like the injectors, its actually really loud when i have my ear on the exhaust manifold anyway, my freind has a 87 ford ranger and has the same problem, everyone just tells him its normal for his truck, why is there a SEWING MACHINE UNDER MY HOOD??? anybody have any hints, i has thinkin about runnin zmax through it cause i sat through there infomercial and they were talkin about valve noise. its a 92 si hb.

First thing I would do is check the oil. It sounds like youre a quart low or so. If you are low add a quart and try it. If you keep coming up low on oil, I would check the oil pump. Thats what mine sounded like. And the oil pump ended up going out and I spun the bottom end bearings.
