mica blue?

jus bough my new project a r34 skyline from tamilya!
its a nice kit n vety simple i finshed most of it i jus need to spray the body now!
one problem i bought mica blue paint from tamilya, and i heard that there is problems wit using mica paint? it that true? if so how do i go about spraying the mica blue? is there any special step i have to do?
you help is appecricated

Don't know what the problem might be. Maybe they mean you need to use a silver color primer instead of the usual white or gray to achieve the perfect match of color.
Otherwise, TS-50 is up to the usual high standard Tamiya is know for.

do i have 2 use a primer?
caues i dont like 2 use primes but i will if its necessary
n if i have 2 can i go to the local pep boys and pick up a can of dui-point silver primer or will dat not work?

Well a frequent problem I had w/it was that it wanted to bubble...constantly....and I primer so I couldnt figure out the problem.

Bubbling is usually caused by one of several reasons, the main ones being shaking the paint too vigourously so that the propellant gas gets caught in small bubbles in the paint. Spraying from too close so that the paint doesn't have time to release all the gas before reaching the surface. Spraying the paint on too thick or before the layers underneath have completely dried which in turn traps bubble of gas in the next layer of paint as the first coats dry.

Personally, I haven't had any trouble with mica blue paint to date.

Mica Blue is fine but there are a few things about it it. It will get darker in color with each additional coat of paint. You should use White or a bright Silver as a base color (primer is not necessary). It should be clear coated as all Metallic colors should be.

Clear Coat is a protective finnish of a car, can be found in Automotive Sections much like spary paint. Gives the car a Glossy Finnish.

Shouldn't have any problems with it...just use a white primer first.

see i noe i should go and buy some primes but its not exactly cheap
see im kinda low on funds and i can use the money for primer or i can buy some stryene sheets and try to fabricate a kit so what im tyrin to ask is it ABSOULTY necessary to go and prime the skyline in white before sprayin it?
please help me on that question

What color is the Skyline molded in?

If it in molded in any color other than white, then you must prime it, if it is molded in white though, you may get away with not priming.

I still recommend priming though, since Mica Blue is one of those colors that will show up uneveness in the colors underneath, an even base of white primer will help.

This has been talked about heaps here......i wont build a model without primer going on first.
It helps to fill any light sanding marks and gives the paint a good surface to stick to.
Other's here will tell you that you dont need it.....but at the end of the day it's you building the kit, and you will find out what works best.

the skyline base is white and i have aleady done a wet sand with 1200 grade sand paper so the glossyness is off the base ,
but from what you people are saying i think im gona go buy some white primer and spray the model, but after the wet sand i did the exterior feels very smooth and all the excess crazy glue is off so i think itz good to pain now but i will go and prime and do a light sandin and see if it helps
theres a first time 4 everything rite? so this is gona be my first time using primer.
