what type of engine is in my prelude

i have a 1998 prelude vtec base and im not sure what type of engine is in it

one posted a chart of the engines and it said for my year it had an h23a1, but i looked down and another chart showed the hp that each engine had and it had the 1998 prelude using an h23a4

plz help if you know

open your hood and look at the front of the motor where the trans and the motor join together might be covered with crud mud or oil just wipe away and you will see the engine code right next to the left side of the exhaust manifold
