1993 c1500 -- Low beams OK, Hi beams nothing

Hi Everyone;

I've got a 1993 Chevy c1500 pickup.

The low beams work A-OK.

When I engage the hi-beams they do NOT come on, but the low beams go off.

I've got a Haynes manual -- but can't find a wiring diagram for the headlights.

Are the low beams supposed to go off when the hi-beams are on?

Can anyone help me out with a wiring diagram or some suggestions on how to trace the problem?

Diagram # 4 shows headlights.

Does your high beam indicator on dash light up when on high beam??

Are both hi beam lights in good working order?

I just went and looked at my 96 k1500. When dimmer switch on LOW Beam outside lights only and dimmer switch on HIGH BEAM inner lights on only.

Don't know -- they haven't worked since I bought the truck (about a month ago). I'm fixing a number of the "little" things. Guess I'll get out my volt meter to see if there's 12v when the hi-bemas are on.
