I recently bought a 99 blazer in excellent condition just under 100K miles 4 door. Never had a problem with it. However, recently i put my turn signals on and proceeded to turn. Once i stopped turning, i noticed the flasher located behind the glove box was still clicking. Now it won't shut off. The turn signals still turn on properly if they are engaged but the clicking never stops unless the car is off. ALSO if i press on my brakes, the clicking stops....but when i accelerate it starts clicking again. I replaced the flasher, checked fuses and bulbs and everythin is fine. Any suggestions would be great before i go crazy from the sound of my blinkers constantly clicking
. thanks! |

Re: Blazer Signals Won't Turn Off Help!
Those are the typical symptoms of problems with the multifunction switch. After frequent use the grease inside becomes impregnated with metal particles due to wear on the contacts. The correction is to repair (clean) or replace the switch. There's a good walkthrough here, the reference vehicle is a 97, you may notice a couple differences, however the process is basically the same:

Re: Blazer Signals Won't Turn Off Help!
fireNflames: I also have the same problem on my 99Blazer and it drives me crazy! My mom had the same problem when she had a 99Bravada and it was a costly repair for her at the dealership... but that was mostly labor costs for the amount of time it took for the wrench turners to figure out what the problem was.
