Mad Aussie on the highway.

Been gone a while but Im back with a roll of back to back races that really are worth telling about.

A week or so ago Im with a co-worker on a run around town mission for the boss. We decided to take my car since it was a 40 minute drive to where we needed to be and I get there in 20.

On the way back the highway is barely populated and Im cruising at 85 or so when a riced out Honda civ goes by. Civ boy got a red and black new Si with da c-west bodykit and the stickers everywhere. ofcourse I hear his exhaust a mile before he finally cathes up and as hes going by my co-worker says. "oh shit, I think he wants to race you"
"Why you say that?" "hes looking dead at us!"
Well rice boy shifts and I hear a BOV! yup riceroniie was mAdBo0sTed Yo!
"OHH shit hommie hes gonna take you now!" my excited co-worker yells.

race 1: Civ boy drops like 2 gears and guns it. I sit chilling without even a flinch as his fartcan screems to life and his car begins to creep away. I slowly reach down and dessengage the T/C and tell the hommie in the passenger seat to brace him self. Honda is about 3 cars up on me. I drop the hammer on the Goat and pin his head against the seat as all hell breaks loose and the car tries to fish tail. (dropping from 5th to 3rd puts the revs a few hundred rpms below redline, even at 80-85 mph my summer tires will kick loose but its a hell of a rolling start.) all I hear is OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH SHHHIIIIITTTTTTT! as I punch into 4th and scream past the honda a couple of seconds later.

race 2: I drop down to 75mph after pulling away from the civ and wait for him to do his fly-by but I see another car blowing past him. A black G35 pulling up hard on my 6. Apparently the G had been behind the Civ and me and was following the action. he blows by me and then slows down to match me.
He lowers his window and yells "nice race"
I respond " Nah that wassnt a race that was just murder"
He laughs " thats my friend! where going to a club meet. wanna join?"
"Ohh shit, dont tell him I said that!"
"You wanna go?"
I give him a thumbs up and wait for a honk down. Ofcourse there never was one, he just took off! Mutherfow!!!! I pin it in hopes of making up for loss time but he still got a car length on me which is when i noticed his emblem said Infinity G and then a squigly "S" badge. must be the new G35 I guess.
So I run it all the way through 3rd and slowly walking past him, but as I shift to 4th he hangs for a minute, we get up to about 100 and then at almost the top of fourth is when I finaly pull from him and leave him back there. Damn good high end on his part. I only put about 4 cars on him by 130.

He honks and flashes his lights so I slow down in case hes warning me about cops or something but he wassnt. turns out two evos had been tailing us. A red and a silver.

Race 3: We get to a toll booth and the silver evo had gotten ahead of me and was waiting for me to leave the gate.
We take off at the same time and the fucker get a good lead on me. I was about 2 cars behind him all the way up to the top of second gear where I started to catch up and finally matched him going into 3rd at about 75 mph or so. all through 3rd we where at a stale-mate I kept thinking I was gonna see him spike and pull away and then right before I hit redline he just falls back hard! I mean it was Like he let completely off the gas! I shift to 4th and Im well into 100 mph when I realize hes catching up again! I guess he just ran out of breath or something. i pulled up to 120 and let up. We go back down to 85 mph and his boy in the other evo pulls up. He wanted to go so I figured what the hell.

Race 4: I honk it down and he takes off. All I heard was a jet engine and he was gone. JUST GONE! I gave it all I had, he just kept pulling! we started from an 85 mph roll, parasitic drive train loss my ASS! he pulled away slowly at first, as if his turbo didnt wake up till he got to 6K RPMS or something but once it boosted he time traveled. I got up to about 120 again and he was pulling every gear so he musta beena good 4 lengths up on me.

Ressults:
Boosted Civic Si is just a faster slow car.
New G is a nice ass cruiser but not really dangerous.
Silver Evo was fast as hell of the line but turbo musta quit after 90 mph.
Red Evo was way faster then me. mad respect.

Co-worker is slowly getting the feeling back in his legs. and all I got for these races was a huge bill at the gas pump!

Fin.

i dont think anyone has ever gotten four back to back to back...to back races...nice kills and an honorable loss, no shame in losing to a fast evo.

Re: Mad Aussie on the highway.

Agreed. Nice kills and respectable loss. Very entertaining read. Too bad you couldn't race a less ricey si. Then again, the new si has a head start from the factory in riceness I like how you surprised the G35 with the power of the GTO. Coupe vs. coupe... ellis deuce ftw! As for evos... I guess the second one had more $ thrown at it. Either way all around.

Re: Mad Aussie on the highway.

Damn, that red EVO sounds sick!

I gotta say, I'm surprised that Si was that slow, you sure it wasn't an R18 (non-Si) with a turbo? There are quite a few turbo Si's running 12s with the fastest so far being in the 11s. Then again, it could be the Greddy kit which isn't too impressive (about 250 whp)

I apologize if it sounds like I don't believe you, cause I do. I know that GTOs are very quick.

BTW, send some races my way.. 4 in a row? wtf!

Re: Mad Aussie on the highway.

Yeah the SI was prob not making any power out of it, I've seen some boosted K series and they can be quick. Either way awesome stuff, good to see you back on here.

Well remember drag specific cars are built and tunned very distinctly. Just cause some turbo'd civics on NOPI tunnervision run 11's dossent mean all boosted Si will. Plus Miami has the largest grouping of the worlds worst tunners! if its built here its probably slow or a very fast ticking time bomb. either way they dont survive long.

Nah no need to apologize. Ive met boosted hondas that will run circles around me but I could tell from the tacky paintjob and body kit this guy was a posser. Plus my Goat is far from BPUs, Ive got a SLP Bobcat 430 combo with some custom ported work and tunned by master tech Jeremy Formato himself. Its a Feisty Goat!

I think they might of all been part of that car club the G35 driver mentioned. The last evo was a beaut! it was a red MR with full roll-cage and something evil under the hood. Considering the Evo has always been my favorite car I was pleased to have ran into it.
