1991 Cavalier Transmission Problem Please Help

I HAVE A 1991 CAVALIER Z24 WITH A 3.1 AND IM HAVING A TRANNY PROBLEM I LOST REVERSE... BEFORE I TOTALLY LOST REVERSE IT DIDNT HAVE A LOT OF POWER AT ALL WHEN I BACK UP I COULDNT EVEN BACK UP A HILL IT JUST MADE A GRINDING SOUND WHEN I TRIED AND NOW IT JUST REVS LIKE ITS IN NEUTRAL.. I HAVE PEOPLE TELL ME I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND I HAD SOME SAY THAT IT COULD BE A REVERSE SERVO I DONT KNOW IF ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING PLEASE LET ME KNOW

If you till can drive it, take it to a local Trans Shop. Have then drop the pan and give you an estimate. Ya...it could be a new trans in your future !!!

When was the last time you changed the filer and fluid???

Mine ride did the same thing last year, but not quite that bad. I took it in, they changed the fluid and filter. Could not find anything major. charged me 80 bucks and it has not missed a lick since then ( crossing my fingers) A new trans with labor fees it approx $1,000.
