So I'm tryin to be nice an put an alternator into my buddy's 2000 Saturn SW2 V6 wagon. Turned out to be more of a pain in the butt then I expected it to be. I took the serpentine belt and the tensioner off, but could not get the alternator out. I took the upper and lower alternator bolts out and the alternator won't budge at all. Am I missing a bolt somewhere or something???? I looked at the new alternator and it appears to only be mounted on with two bolts. I have never had issues relacing an alternator on any vehicle, so this really has me stumped. HELP!!!!!!

Re: 2000 SW2 alternator
If your car has a V-6 it is an L-series. Not an S-series. Alternators usually have a sliding bushing in one of the mounts that can get pretty tight on the bracket. You might simply need to gently pry the alternator off the bracket.
