Oil blown out remdiation
97 Spyder with 2L turbo, had filler cap left loose/off after topping oil.
Blew out 2-3 quarts. Resulting in lifter noise, (quieting down), leaking valve cover (need gasket) and the big question. Oil pressure runs near low range mark at driving rpms and below normal range at idle. I know folks on this forum have seen it all,so what are your ideas? Thamks! John |

Re: Oil blown out remdiation
Well, you did fill it back up right? From what I remember, my oil pressure runs below the mark at idle, but I also think its a healthy bit above the normal line when I am cruising. Honestly though, I dont think you have anything to worry about.

Re: Oil blown out remdiation
How did you loose 2-3 quarts of oil before you noticed it? Thats an ass of oil blowing all over a hot motor. It should have been smoking so bad you would be able to see the road. The motor should be fine though but keep an eye on it.

Re: Oil blown out remdiation
I forgot to put the 710 cap back on after filling the oil once and I didn't get very far before I could smell hot oil so I pulled over immediately and I had only lost about 1/2 a quart. So how far did you go? Did you get on the highway or something?
