high beams won't work

We recently acquired a 91 Honda Civic Hatchback (manufactured In Canada). There is a problem with the high beams that we can’t resolve—they won't work but the low beams work fine. We've checked everything we can think of; all fuses, bright lamps, switch, relay for head lamps are all okay, and the wiring seems to be intact and grounded.

Before we take the car to a shop to have them trace down the problem, I wanted to check to see if anyone has any suggestions.

We do not have an owner’s manual for this car. We’ve located one fuse box under the steering column and one relay/fuse box next to the battery. Is there another box anywhere we need to locate? Have you heard of anyone else with this same problem?

since wiring is not my forte, i'll let someone answer, but i would highly suggest you invest the money into an manual

My old civic had the same problem. What I had to do was replace the whole turn signal/light assembly. Fixed the problem.

Trace your way back starting from the headlight wires right at the bulb. There are only the two fuse boxes and the one under the dash is what your looking for. Also each high beam is individual once it leaves the switch, meaning theres a fuse for left and right (only one power source coming in, but 2 going out), and a relay to match. So if neither of them are coming on id put good money on the switch. but also check the power coming into the switch. this is all easy to do once you get the cover off of the steering column, it just pops off and theres a ring type clamp behind the steering wheel holding the top and bottom together. 3 screws hold the bottom cover on.
