This part is no longer available from Ford and I cannot find a reman. Does anybody have any info on where to get one other that the junkyard. Of course a junkyard will do if that is all there is, but would rather not.ThanksFranks97T-Bird

Found one in a junkyard. Don't know if it works yet. Will post a follow-up as soon as I know.Franks97T-Bird

Good luck finding the right one. If all else fails you could try an adjustable one. Ford Racing and many others sell them.

Re: 97 T-Bird brake proportioning valve

I don't think this part was ever available.

I have the same issue, 1987 Thunderbird proportioning valve is leaking from the front nipple. It really doesn't make sense that the nipple is even visible.

A consideration is to buy a used proportioning valve from a junkyard for $10 and disassemble it to determine how it fits together. Then, replace all the O-Rings with nitrile rings from Harbor Freight where you can buy the whole pack for like $3.

This is probably going to be my approach when I do have to replace the unit.

Re: 97 T-Bird brake proportioning valve

I have found a place that will rebuild the my valve and return it. It is Whitepost Restorations in Whitepost, Va. They mainly do full frame off restorations but also have a shop the rebuilds brake components.I will post when I find out how if it works or not. Frank
