Unhappy My '94 cherokee has no tail lights or running lights

PLease help!
My dash, tail and running lights are out (radio too). all 4 exterior bulbs were were blown. I replaced them all. All of my fuses are ok.
Brakes, reverse and headlight are all working.
Any suggestion on how to fix this??

Someone suggested that the switch may be bad, since my dash light are out too. Before I pull apart the dash board to check that....
Please help!!

Re: My '94 cherokee has no tail lights or running lights

Did all bulbs burn out suddenly (over a short amount of time)? If so, there's something causing a surge in the power. If this is the case I recommend checking the size (amp) fuse to be sure it's not letting through a surge where it should be tripping the fuse.

If you want to check the switch before taking apart the dash, try finding the wires under the driver's side dash and trace them up to the switch as far as you can (so you get the right wires) and use an electric tester to see if power is going TO and FROM the switch. If you can't find the wires, try pulling apart the dash a bit at a time (starting from near the side door close to the slider switch for the running lights) until you can see the switch wires. You might be able to get to it without too much dismantling.

Let us know what you find.

Sounds like you might have a short somewhere in your wires. My 98 JGC Laredo is having nearly the same problem. The Taillights and Instrument Panal dont work and my mechanic said its a short.

I am also having the same problem with my 1998 JGC Laredo. I found that the radio illumination fuse was blowing. I replaced it and it worked fine for about 2 weeks. Then I went through a car wash and it blew the fuse again. Now I keep replacing the fuse and it will blow almost instantly.
