where is the IAT sensor on a 93 thunderbird

I bought a Power Chip off eBay and I cannot find the IAT sensor to install it , does anyone know where it is ??
when I open my hood on the left hand side I see a square black plastic box with a filter in it and I thought it was the location but don't see what they are saying to look for. They say to look for what looks like a spark plug adapter..

Please help me if you can.

Thanks

I know what type of "power Chip" you are talking about. They dont work PERIOD. I made the mistake of buying one and I tried it. It set off the "check Engine" light and did absolutely NOTHING AT ALL. But if you REALLY want to try it (which I think is a waste of your time) its the only thing that plugs into the actual airbox. Its too wires and its on the back side of the air box (at least it is on my '91). As my buddy's dad, who's a very good mechanic, told me "you can never really fool the computer." In theory these work but there are sooo many other sensors on the engine that they just end up causing problems

I have the same year thunderbird, auto, 3.8L V6. To get at the IAT sensor, you should have to remove the top of the engine (upper manifold or plenum). Refer to www.autozone.com repair guides section for detailed instructions. It's easy with a couple of tools. Then you get the perfect view of it on the back side of the intake manifold. And the only sensor "by" the air box is in the intake tube, the Mass Air Flow sensor. Hope I helped!

Re: where is the IAT sensor on a 93 thunderbird

isnt there also an air temp sensor that screws directly into the air box. on my motor its right next to the output of the airbox. looks kinda like an un bulbed headlight when you take it out. or is that just on the 94-95's?

phillytomcat- What engine do you have? I don't have a manual for your year Bird but if a '91 (intrcptrbird's) 5.0? and both my '95 and '97's 4.6 have it located in the back side of the airbox, then I would tend to believe your '93 should have it in the same location.
