Are you certain that it was not XP3 ??

XP4 was never silver - it was a muted shade of grenish gray for a while before being painted that great shade of blue.

To my knowledge, there are no great photos of XP4 prior to it being painted blue - just those four so-so one's from Cottingham's site.

I'm guessing that it would be this:

Though it looks a bit darker from those shots taken from the video.

How about a link to the video for the rest of us?? Or did you get it off Kazaa?

Nevermind - found it on RacingFlix.com.

Well the paint is getting a strong reflection from the clouds and sky in Cottingham's photos making the color appear brighter than it actually is. Plus that video is super-dark the whole way through. Whoever encoded it didn't adjust the color levels when they created that MPEG. I wouldn't trust the colors you are seeing from that video to be more accurate then the photo, and I don't believe that XP4 was ever another color besides the two we know about.

i think it is the same car as this. color matches and the background as well. the license plate is K3 MAC, so i think it's XP3

i don't think thats xp4, it lacks the xp4 stickers and i thought xp4's license plate was K4 MCL, altho, that could be the car chris dawes crashed, its just a guess, i have never seen another car that color and he did crash a burgundy mclaren

I could have saved you guys so many posts if I had seen this sooner...

That's not an XP at all - that's actually chassis #002. The car is dark gray but the sunlight in this photo along with it's poor quality is making the car seem brighter.

His plate actually says "I3 MAC" so that's not a 'K' even though it does sort of look like one. I think it's just the poor picture quality skewing it a bit.

You can see two photos of the car at the bottom of this thread.
