Sounds crappy indeed! My wife and I were considering Wild Blue, but ended up getting wireless service through our cellphone company (Ntelos, local VA company). It's about 3x as fast as dialup and they said that the speed will be increasing in the next couple months.

Never heard of Wild blue till now but from what I'm reading, it's a satellite service, correct? So I guess my only question to you as of now is:

Is the satellite clear of any obstructions (tree's and such). That would hinder speeds. also, the cables being used, new? Older cables running with satellite and cable internet will have drastic effects.

Like I said, not sure of the quality of wild blue but, it's just something to think about.

I live northwest of the middle of nowhere.
I have a Sprint USB card I use for my laptop. It seems to work better then my phone here.
I got the unlimited plan for $60 a month..
But its cheaper then dial up here! ..well at least I guess.. as far as paying a lot verses paying a whole lot...
