1999 Ranger air bag question.

So, my Brother in law owns this ranger that was in a minor fender bender. The driver rear ended someone, damage isn't too bad, bumper bent, grill shot, trans cooler leaks, and The air bag was deployed. I am going to repair this truck for him. If I buy a used airbag, can I just install it and be done with it? Or is there anything else in the related electronics that also are "use once"?

No they are not used once so you are fine to install. You need to make sure to de energize the air bag system though or you could deploy the used one as soon as you plug it up.

Re: 1999 Ranger air bag question.

Thanks for your response. Yeah I'm going to unplug the battery and isolate the terminals an hour before I do anything. However, the research I have done is telling me that the control module has a fuse that blows upon deployment, thus needing to be replaced. But I found one for $50, so no big deal.
